SIGNED COPY. Oh, My Goodness: Reclaiming Ourselves As Whole Rather Than Good

$9.99

Amazon’s #1 New Release in ‘Codependency’ & #2 New Release in ‘Inspirational Poetry’!

Nicole’s second release is a short-form collection inspired by a young woman’s personal journey through releasing the inner desire to be the “good, strong one” all the time. Playing the role of the “good little girl” for so many years has created a sense of home-sickness in her, like longing for somewhere she can’t quite place. This piece explores what “goodness” has given her, such as tolerance from the world, and what “goodness” has protected her from, such as emotional rejection; on a larger scale, it also argues that the need for “goodness” often strips away our humanity, because we are not built to be good and right and virtuous all the time. Sometimes we are limited, sometimes we let people down, sometimes we are not happy go-lucky... because the appropriate response to some things is not happiness at all. Our less-accepted parts, such as fear, anger, sadness or neediness, make us beautifully complex humans, and this is where true acceptance and liberation lies. Throughout these pages, Nicole questions what it might be like to let go of the shield of “goodness,” to allow herself to show her less-accepted parts, and ultimately come home to herself again.

Oh, My Goodness: Reclaiming Ourselves as Whole Rather Than Good is Nicole Smolinski’s second poetry collection, following her debut #1 New Release, Finding My Way Back: Poems on Coming Alive, Healing and Self-Discovery.
